World Wide BBS 3.1 (22.7.95)
Copyright ⌐ 1995 Arthur Choung
---
World Wide BBS is now shareware. If you use this program, I request that
you send me a donation of US$30. In return I will send you all updates.
Only registered users will have access to updates, unless there is a silly
bug that prevents users from evaluating this program.
I have a long list of what I am going to implement..so instead I will just
list the major features:
o Locale support, so alphabet's won't be restricted and you will be
able to change the text messages to your liking.
o Inter-node communications, including paging and chatting. Right now
paging has been implemented but it is not as nice as it should be.
o Full screen interface to view email, messages, and files.
o UMS support.
Here are a few programs that you may want to use with WWBBS, which you can
get on Aminet:
o Tin - To read usenet newsgroups.
o Elm - To read internet email.
o MTalk - To have conferencing.
o AEd - To have a full-screen editor.
I have included some doors that you can run with WWBBS.
I have included a nice sysop pager written by Giuseppe Vicari. You can
configure WWBBS to use this by copying it to WWBBS: and then going into
MenuPrefs and adding a command, with the command string set to
`DOSCOMMAND WWBBS:WWBBSChat'.
I have included a nice remote shell also written by Giuseppe Vicari. You
can configure this the same way as the sysop pager.
I have included a fido message reader written by Marc J. Fuehrer. Refer to
the documentation for more information.
There's some new stuff I haven't quite looked at yet, but I have included
it.
Thanks to those who wrote utilities for WWBBS.
Programmers please read the ReadMe file in the Programming directory.
In addition to reading the documentation, please read the History file for
changes from 3.0 to 3.1. The documentation has not been updated yet.
